Desk News. According to the passport index of 2024 by Henley & Partners, a citizenship consulting firm, Bangladesh ranks 97th in the world’s strongest passport index. Bangladesh was ranked 102 in the previous index.
Bangladesh was ranked 101 in the index released on January 10 last year. The Hanley & Partners index of passport strength is based on data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) on how many countries a country’s passport can enter visa-free or visa-on-arrival. Henley has determined a total of 103 positions this year as some countries have joint positions in the index of 199 countries in the world.
The organization has been publishing the ranking every year on how strong the passport of any country in the world is. The index has been published every three months for the past 19 years.
The strongest passport in the new index is that of Singapore. The country’s passport holders can travel to 195 countries without an advance visa. Despite the improvement in the index, Bangladeshi passport holders can currently travel to 40 countries in the world without an advance visa. Which was earlier 42.

This list of Bangladeshi travel without advance visa includes Bahamas, Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, Fiji, Granada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya , Kiribati, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritania, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Nepal, Nueva, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Vincent and the Grenada, Gambia, East Timor, Trinidad and Tobago , Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
In some of these countries and regions, Bangladeshis get visa benefits on arrival or after landing at the airport. E-Visa should be taken for Sri Lanka and Kenya.
